about rotary
Rotary International (RI) was founded in America in 1905 and is now a world-wide, highly-respected organisation of business and professional people, with more than 1.2 million members. To learn more about RI internationally, please use this link to visit the RI website. To learn more about RI in Great Britain and Ireland, please use this link to visit the RI in Britain & Ireland (RIBI) website.

There are a number of organisations within Rotary International, catering for different age-groups and interests:
  • Interact is Rotary International's service club for young people ages 14 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. Our Club sponsors a successful, active Interact Club, based at Coopers School in Chislehurst. To learn more about Interact, please use this link to visit the Interact section of the Rotary website.

  • Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they're sponsored by a local Rotary club. The Bromley Club sponsors a Rotaract Club. To learn more about Rotaract, please use this link to visit the Rotaract section of the RI website - or visit this link for information about the Bromley Rotaract Club.

Rotary is about the 3 F's - Fun, Fellowship and Fund-raising .  Each gets due attention in our Club. While Rotary is firstly about service to the community, we achieve it through fun and mutual friendship.

Please take time to review all the pages on this website to see if you are the type of person to be a Rotarian. If so, see our contact page for email links to club officers that can give you more information and possibly invite you along to our club one Monday evening, as our guest, so that you can see for yourself what we are all about.

If you think you may like to join Rotary but our meeting time or location is not convenient for you, please see the other local clubs page for details of other clubs in this area (or the RI, RIBI, Interact or Rotaract websites, as above, for clubs anywhere else).
